Stock Screener questions

1) I have a question regarding the free stock screener. When you select the EMA Triple Cross as a technical indicator, what periods is it using? i.e. 10-day EMA crossing the 20-day EMA and the 50-day EMA.

We use the 4,9 and 18 day ema cross. More information on MA’s and the triple cross can be found here: http://www.chartfilter.com/reports/c27.htm

2) How do you see if a stock has an option symbol?

Choose option symbol in the login version of the screener, use an operator greater than or equal to, a. (make sure it’s the lower case a).

You can also choose the option symbol with no operator and this will return you the entire list which you can then sort.

3) Saving screening strategies

You currently cannot save your screening strategies in the browser based stockscreener.

To save your screening strategies you must use StockTools. In the StockTools application, you will find some navigation buttons. Click the "Search" for the Stock Screener.

In the Screener/Search module you will see a "file" pull down menu. This is where you can save your screening strategies.

Hi,
I have problem with the screener. I have set all my indicator and save, but next day when I log in again, I can not find the one that I save. the open list is blank. so, everytime, I want to screen, I need to re-set the indicator.

Do you have any idea?

Hi Yon,

When you exit the software, please use the file-> exit pull down. This will ensure that your profile is saved to the server. By closing the program without exiting, sometimes the profiles does not get uploaded.

Let me know if you still have problems. I have tested my account and found no issues.
